Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, made his second trip to Pakistan

Bill Gates and representatives of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) were present at a meeting in Islamabad when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his commitment to complete eradication of polio from Pakistan.

Bill Gates visited Pakistan for the second time in 2022, before that he met Prime Minister Imran Khan. Shahbaz Sharif highlighted the importance of continuous efforts and thanked BMGF for its continuous support in the fight against polio. He described the recent immunization campaign as one of the cooperative efforts between the federal and local governments.

During the meeting, Bill Gates reiterated his commitment to do more to eradicate polio in Pakistan in the coming years. Wider areas of cooperation such as the use of digital technology for economic development and other mutual benefits were also discussed.
