A deadly blast happened in Iran on the death anniversy of Soleimani. In the Iranian city of Kerman, two explosions happened outside an event close to General Qassem Soleimani’s grave in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. There have been at least 200 confirmed deaths as a result. A large number of children is also included in martyrs.

Antonio Guterres, the head of the UN, has expressed sympathy for the victims of the attack and demanded that those responsible be brought to justice. He also wishes a speedy recovery to the victims of the blast.

Many other countries like Pakistan, Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan has also showed their condolences on this deadly blast. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar condoled in these words “deeply saddened to learn about the huge loss of lives in terrorist attacks in Kerman”.

In a social media statement, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his sympathies and criticized the horrific attack.

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, has expressed sympathy for the victims of the explosions. While Nasrallah did not address possible criminals but he did state that those martyred followed the same path of fight as Soleimani.

In response to the blast in Kerman, Iranian President Raisi released a written statement. He states “The enemies of the nation should know that such actions can never disrupt the solid determination of the Iranian nation.”

After the terrorist blast in Iran, the government declared tomorrow [Thursday] a day for public mourning across the country. This announcement was made by Iranian official television.
