Pakistan is chasing to advance to the semifinals after England chose to bat first.

In Saturday’s match in Kolkata, England won the toss and elected to bat first, which dealt a blow to Pakistan’s hopes of making it to the World Cup semi-finals.

England is already out of the competition, but Pakistan, the winners in 1992, have a remote mathematical chance of making it to the semi-finals.

The following describes Pakistan’s chances of qualifying based on England’s batting score:

Pakistan must chase 50 overs if England scores.
In 2.5 overs, Pakistan must chase 100 if England scores.
Pakistan must chase 150 if England scores 150 in 3.4 overs.
Pakistan will need 4.3 overs to chase 200 if England scores first.
Pakistan will need to chase 300 if England scores in 6.1 overs.
