Reducing circular debt is the decision

In order to limit the spiraling circular debt, the government will need to raise the quarterly power tariff.

It was anticipated that the total debt servicing bill would decrease and might be in the range of Rs 8.3 trillion due to the expectation of shifting to longer-maturity T-bills and floating of bonds on lower policy rates. The IMF had previously estimated that the debt servicing bill might have increased to Rs8.56 trillion.
