Prime Minister Sharif arrives in Kazakhstan for the two SCO Summits.

Arriving in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be attending the two-day SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) and SCO Plus summits.

At the airport, Oljas Bektenov, his equivalent from Kazakhstan, welcomed him with warmth. Along with senior cabinet members and officers, the prime minister was accompanied by Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs. The PM will address the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State summit, providing Pakistan’s viewpoints on important regional and international issues. He will speak at the SCO Plus Summit as well, a news release from the PM Office states.

Along with the other attending leaders, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will hold a dinner reception for the heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Leaders will talk about how bilateral relations are currently going. In order to further develop bilateral connections, they expressed pleasure with the inter-parliamentary collaboration between the two nations and decided to fortify the Parliamentary Friendship Groups that were already in place, including frequent parliamentary exchanges.
