Govt of Pakistan Approves Phone Tapping for National Security

Recently, the Pakistani government issued a decree allowing the monitoring of phone calls for National Security purposes.

A notification from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication said that the decision requires the supervision of an officer holding a post of at least Grade 18.

Tracking and monitoring calls and texts are among the approved monitoring activities. The program is part of a larger initiative to strengthen the national security framework, giving law enforcement agencies the ability to detect and neutralize potential threats to public safety.

The government’s commitment to improving surveillance capabilities to maintain and peace is reflected in the implementation of these measures.
