According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Heavy Monsoon rains have been predicted in Punjab till July 7. Significant rains are expected in several districts including Sialkot, Narowal, Shakargarh, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin. According to PDMA
Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Murree and Galiat are likely to experience rain with gusty winds and thundershowers.
The water level in Punjab’s rivers including Chenab, Ravi, Jhelum and Sutlej is currently normal. However, as moderate to high flood is likely, a flood warning has been issued for river Chenab near Marala.
PDMA has advised people to exercise caution during this time. To guarantee safety, they recommend staying away from power infrastructure and river crossings.
