Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced earlier in the day that the industrial sector would get a significant reduction in electricity rates, reducing prices by Rs 10.69 per unit, with the intention of increasing exports and industrial production.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) recommended this reduction for industries and through the Prime Minister’s efforts, the new electricity price per unit for the industrial and export sector was fixed at Rs 34.99. The Prime Minister’s package is expected to provide relief of over Rs 200 billion to industries, which will increase their competitiveness in the global market.
