E-commerce exports from Pakistan rise to $48.5 Million after listing on Amazon Sellers list

According to reports from the 9th National E-Commerce Council meeting, the ability to sell goods on Amazon has increased Pakistan’s online sales to $48.5 million.

Since the approval of the National E-Commerce Policy in 2019, several achievements have been achieved. These include raising the monthly income limit for freelancers from $5,000 to $25,000, establishing a special category for e-commerce business registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), and selling to consumers through global platforms.

More than 3,000 enterprises have successfully registered on the Pakistan Trade Portal, and the SRO(14) scheme has played a key role in facilitating $66 million in e-commerce exports of small packets.Future goals include updating the policy action plan, formalizing social commerce practices, expanding access to overseas markets, and developing artificial intelligence tools for online firms.

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has been appreciated by Minister Jam Kamal Khan for the significant increase in registrations on Pakistan Trade Portal. Additionally, he recommended linking this portal with others to enhance client services.
