During the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to China, a joint declaration was issued between the two brotherly countries. During the visit, the two sides signed 23 MoUs and agreements on cooperation in CPEC, agriculture, infrastructure, industrial cooperation, market regulation, survey and mapping, media, film and other areas.
The statement emphasized on upgrading the ML-1, realigning the Karakoram Highway (Raikot-Thakot), upgrading the Khunjarab-Sost Pass inspection infrastructure and upgrading the port infrastructure at Gwadar.
