In 2025, Pakistan will host India in Lahore for the Champions Trophy.

Lahore has been proposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as the ideal location for all of India’s matches during the Champions Trophy, which is set to take place in February 2025.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has been notified of the draft proposal and asked to review and approve it. The ultimate choice of the venue will be decided upon at the July meeting of the ICC Board, which is scheduled to occur in Sri Lanka.

The PCB had originally proposed Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore as possible tournament locations. But after much thought and deliberation, Lahore was determined to be the best option. The choice to hold all of the matches in Lahore was made in order to simplify logistics, guarantee the best possible security setup, and improve the overall tournament experience for competitors, officials, and spectators.

Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB, reaffirmed the board’s steadfast dedication to organizing a great competition. He underlined that talks with the ICC to address security issues and carry the required stadium renovations are still ongoing.

The main goal is to establish a welcoming and safe environment that promotes sportsmanship and camaraderie for both spectators and participants.

The idea to hold India’s cricket matches in Lahore is a major step forward for PakistanIndian cricket diplomacy. Political concerns have caused a strain in bilateral cricket relations between the two countries, resulting in a break in cricket matches since the 2012–13 season.

The PCB is however upbeat about the possibility of restoring cricket connections through the Champions Trophy and demonstrating the attitude of togetherness and sportsmanship that cuts across geographical boundaries.

In order to guarantee flawless execution and respect to international standards, the PCB continues to collaborate closely with pertinent parties as Champions Trophy preparations pick up steam. In order to guarantee a seamless and prosperous competition, talks with the ICC cover a wide variety of topics, such as scheduling, broadcasting rights, ticketing arrangements, and COVID-19 protocols.
